Bathroom Remodeling in Algonquin
This homeowner in Algonquin called us to remodel their bathroom, and we overhauled the standard bathroom, turning it into an upscale bathroom that looks 100% better. Below we document the changes we made in this Chicago-area bathroom renovation.

- Tub to shower conversion. The old bathtub was a corner tub, which was replaced by a new shower base and enclosure for more versatility. The shower walls are a gray tile pattern, and the base is a gray-green aggregate pattern, which creates a more luxurious image. This new shower also has a corner seat, built-in recessed area for toiletries, and hand-held shower head.
- New vanity and cabinets. Originally, the vanity supporting the sinks was the standard brown wood cabinets you see in many homes. This was replaced with a more stylish dark wood vanity with steel brushed cabinet pulls. On the counter, there is a narrow countertop cabinet, which matches the dark, almost black vanity. This sites between the two sinks, creating more storage space to reduce clutter.
- Brand new sinks and faucets. The basic resin sinks were replaced with premium sink countertops and the plain stainless steel faucets replaced with fancy bronze-steel faucets.
- Medicine cabinet mounted mirrors. An awkward full length sheet mirror was replaced by mounted mirrors which double as fancy medicine cabinets for additional storage and clutter reduction.
- New flooring. Generic square tiles were replaced with new flooring with a faux stone pattern that matches the rest of the new decor.
- Bathroom tile backsplash. Diagonal square backsplash tile around the sink area replaces the wall length mirror. The row of globe bulb lighting was upgraded to mounted wall lighting for more focus on each sink area. This adds an elegant touch.
- Fresh paint, new color. Previously, the paint was a standard light gray, the new paint job is a medium-dark brown, which adds some elegance to this new aesthetic.
