This recent kitchen remodel in Schaumburg was aimed at de-cluttering the area, creating a clean modern look, opening up the kitchen space, and making better use of natural light. The results speak for themselves—see the before and after photos!
- Redesigned countertops and cabinet area. One thing you’ll notice in the before and after photos is the old kitchen is cabinets and countertops on the wall side curve around in an “L” pattern, creating a corridor passage from the dining room to the kitchen. What we did was eliminate the blocking countertop, opening up a direct continuous path from the dining room to the kitchen to the utility room. This creates a lot more space! The room looks completely different with this one change.
- Replaced old wood cabinets with new white cabinets. The homeowner was aiming for a clean, un-cluttered, contemporary look. The old kitchen used wood paneling on the cabinets, both above and below. We replaced these with sparkling white cabinets all the way through the kitchen and utility room. This helps create a clean, upscale aesthetic.
- New flooring. In the previous kitchen, the flooring was square tile-like flooring with grout lines. We replaced this with new textured flooring with a much lighter color and less prominent border. This also helps create a room that looks pristine and clean. With the walls, cabinets, and flooring with lighter tones, it also helps reflect the natural light from the windows, making the kitchen much brighter.
- New kitchen range and refrigerator. The old white coated range was replaced with a new stainless steel range and oven. We also added a stainless steel oven hood to vent cooking vapor from the stove to the outside. We also added a new stainless steel refrigerator to replace the old one.
- Brand new countertops and sink. The old countertops were a pale beige. The new countertops in the kitchen are a quartzite white, which helps enhance the clean look of this contemporary kitchen. The old standard stainless steel sink was replaced by a white basin sink. This completes the clean white aesthetic of the renovated kitchen.
